Thoughts from Mark

All the flocks of Kedar will be gathered together to you, the rams of Nebaioth will minister to you; they will go up with acceptance on My altar, and I shall glorify My glorious house.  Isaiah 60:7

A casual read of this scripture misses the incredible relevance within it for our day.

Kedar and Nebaioth are the first two sons of Ishmael, Abraham’s son to Hagar.  These are the sons who live in the blessing of Abraham but not his covenant.

Most of you know that the sons of Ishmael are the progenitors of the Muslim people of the world.  From OUR father Abraham come both Jew and Muslim.

Isaiah’s prophecy is astounding.  He declares a day is coming when the flocks of the sons of Ishmael will be acceptable on the altar of the Lord.  And in this, will the Father glorify His house.

There is no way that the Lord would accept the flocks of the sons of Ishmael without having the sons themselves.  This God, though He accepted sacrifices, really desires obedience.  Everything about this verse and its context speaks to the sons of Ishmael willingly offering their flocks to the Lord.

Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your shining.  Isaiah 60:3

Much of Christianity does not harmonize with the spirit of Isaiah’s prophecy.  Instead of being light and shining, we can be suspicious, creating or buying into conspiracy theories and divisive rhetoric.

Hate and suspicion do not align with Arise, shine for your light has come and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.  We are to be full of His light, His love, His nature.  Our brightness is to be an unavoidable magnetic field drawing all.

We are not to adopt Islamic beliefs to be light.  We are to understand, not become sympathetic to their faith or cause.  Nor are we to write off them who believe in the words of Mohammed.  None of this is light.

Light begets light.  Jesus is the light, and His light is the life of men.  The more we are consumed by He who is light, the brighter we are.  The brighter we are, the more magnetic we become.

This is the true gospel of Christ.  Preaching without first being light is a clanging cymbal.  This is the New Testament pattern.  The awesome God in people draws others and then soft hearts hear our words.

The sons of Ishmael are growing exponentially in numbers, spreading all over the globe.  Europe, Asia and now the Americas are being flooded with a growing Muslim population.  They believe they are doing so in order to fill the earth with the religion of Islam.  Christians and western countries look on this phenomenon with great alarm.

I see another incredible set-up in the making.

Is it possible that the Lord is creating the stage for a great awakening to Jesus?  The Holy Spirit is giving dreams to the Muslim people.  This is happening all over the world.  The dreams are all the same – they see a man of light beckoning them to come.  He says He loves them and calls them His own.

These dreams of Jesus leave an imprint on the heart.  Then, when met with the Light in us, there is remembrance, a recognition and connection to the imprint.  A softened heart encounters the living Christ.

The original set-up was 2000 years ago.  Satan, thinking he would destroy the Son of God and this fledgling faith, instigates an angry mob of Jews to crucify  Him.  Hell celebrated for 2 days.  But on the third day, the devil wished he had never crucified the Lord of glory.

This spread of Islamic people all over the globe may not be an epidemic at all.  It may very well be a covert operation of the Holy Spirit to get a people He loves in proximity to His sons.

As Jesus woos them by His Spirit, He puts in place the living and loving reality of Himself – us.

This is the set-up.

Lift up your eyes round about and see; they all gather together, they come to you. Your sons will come from afar, and your daughters will be carried in the arms. verse 4

This so-called “cancer” of Islam is an expanding canvas Jesus can paint His masterpiece of love upon.

The muslim does not realize he is being drawn to the Light.  Your Father is bringing His sons and daughters, our brothers and sisters, to our doorstep.  He sees their desire to live right and wants to color their piety with His goodness and grace.

He wants them to know they have a Father.  And He loves them, accepting them through His Son.

Do you see how suspicion and fear opposes this mighty work?  We cannot hide our light under our conspiracy theories and political stances anymore.  There will be pain and setbacks but the reward of Jesus in the sons of Ishmael is worth the cost.

Pray for your Muslim brother.  He is coming to experience Love.  Trust the Spirit in you.  He is also working upon your brother’s heart.

This is the glory of His house.  The sons of Isaac and Ishmael together at the altar of the Lord.

The Muslim is drawing near.  Hear the cry for Jesus within them.

In love,
